Texarkana Area Community Foundation
The Texarkana affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation was one of the first affiliate offices organized in 1986. It is unique as it serves nonprofit organizations in Texas and Arkansas. Bowie County, Texas is served as well as Miller, Little River, Hempstead, Howard and Sevier Counties in Arkansas.
In November 2014, in its annual November grant presentation event $100,574 in grants were presented. This was the first time an affiliate of the Arkansas Community Foundation exceeded $100,000 in annual grant awards due to excellent investment returns the preceding year. Annual grants have averaged approximately $80,000 in recent years.
Texarkana Area Community Foundation is pleased to administer grants to a variety of nonprofits ranging from back-pack food programs to emergency equipment for underwater diving and recovery teams. Board members from Arkansas and Texas cooperate to meet the diverse needs of a unique and growing bistate area.
